Maafushi is simple until the last public boat has gone and the guesthouse night boat costs more than the room. Confirm transfers before you fly.
Dress and alcohol
Bikini beach only for swimwear. No alcohol in village shops. Some excursion boats have a floating bar — ask, do not assume.
Cash and cards
USD is widely understood. Cards at many guesthouses. Small tea houses may want cash. ATMs are not a resort front desk.
Bring a mask
Guesthouse rental snorkels are often poor. A cheap quality mask from India changes the reef day.
Reef-safe sunscreen
The same rule as the resorts. The coral does not care that you paid less for the room.
