Hiroshima is simple until the tide is out and the last ferry has gone. Check both the night before.
Museum at opening
Two hours unhurried. The rest of the day is the island. Reverse only for a once-a-day tide you cannot miss.
JR ferry to Miyajima
Covered by a JR Pass. Other ferries exist. Allow buffer for queues at weekends and sakura week.
Tide table
High tide = floating torii. Low tide = walkable mud. Neither is “wrong”; only the postcard is specific.
Trams and IC cards
Hiroshima’s trams are useful to the park. Suica works. The Shinkansen station is not next to the Dome — budget the hop.
